Character Stunts

Character Stunts fall in to one of several categories: Exceptional Equipment, Skill Specialization, Skill Linking, Conflict Initiative, Spectacular Action, and Spectacular Attack. From these categories a player must specify the effect and flavor the context to create the Stunt.

Some stunts require being powered by a Fate point to activate, this will be mentioned within each category if the effect the player desires requires it.

Exceptional Equipment – A gun that never seems to run dry, a gadget that never seems to run out of uses, a unique item that performs something nearly unbelievable all fall in to this category. Additionally if the equipment can, or always does, generate an aspect on it’s target it will require a Fate point to operate for the aspect to be attached.

Skill Specialization – A specific action or area of knowledge within a skill that a character has advanced experience or education with. This specialization allows for a +2 to the effect of all rolls involving this specialization.

Skill Linking – A skill which is closely related to another skill or can be justified as a valid substitution may be linked. This allows a character to operate as though two skills occupy a single spot on their “pyramid”.

Conflict Initiative – A attribute or ability that allows a character to act more quickly than they normally would in a specific type of conflict: physical, social, or mental. This allows for a +2 to the character’s initiative when determining turn order at the beginning of a conflict.

Spectacular Action – A use of a superpower beyond it’s normal function used in conjunction with a maneuver, block, or movement. This allows for a +2 to the effect rolls involving that power. Additionally if the power can, or always does, generate an aspect on it’s target it will require a Fate point to operate for the aspect to be attached.

Spectacular Attack – A attack with a superpower beyond it’s normal function. This allows for a +2 to the effect rolls involving that power. Additionally if the power can, or always does, generate an aspect on it’s target it will require a Fate point to operate for the aspect to be attached.
